About Us

Midstates Housemovers Association was organized in 1974, with about 12 members. The first meeting was held at the I-80 Holiday Inn in Grand Island, NE, in 1975. This was when the original bylaws were set. The group was assembled to bring together housemovers in the upper Midwest to tell stories and show pictures of the jobs the members had completed. From the beginning, the Annual Convention has been a great time to share ideas on different ways of doing our jobs, enabling all of us to work more efficiently. Our association has grown to 85 plus members across the United States and Canada. While we still bring stories and ideas to the Annual Convention, we also conduct the business of electing leadership in the form of our Board of Directors, establish member committees, and discuss other new and old business.

Housemoving involves moving structures, and it also involves lifting buildings for basement and / or foundation work. Browse examples of the type of work we do below, and use our member list to find a professional housemover near you.
